This policy explains, in plain terms, what SlideTimerApp does and does not collect. The short version: the app itself collects nothing, and the only personal data the website ever stores is an email address that you choose to give us.
The app collects nothing
SlideTimerApp is a desktop app that runs entirely on your own computer. It works offline and does not need an account, a login, or an internet connection to function. There is no telemetry, no usage tracking, no analytics, and no "phone home" of any kind built into the app.
Your settings — your timer durations, presets, the red-warning threshold, and the window's size and position — are saved locally on your PC so the app remembers them next time. That data stays on your machine; it is never uploaded to us or to anyone else.
What this website collects
The website (slidetimerapp.com) collects very little, and only in three ways:
- Your email address — but only if you voluntarily type it into the download form. If you use the "skip and download directly" link instead, we never see an email from you at all.
- Privacy-friendly analytics — aggregate, non-identifying numbers such as how many people viewed a page. We do not build personal profiles, follow you around the web, or sell this data.
- Standard server logs — like nearly every website, our host records routine technical information (such as IP address and browser type) for security and to keep the site running. These logs are kept only briefly.
How we use your email
If you give us your email on the download form, we use it for two things: to send you the download link, and to send occasional product updates — for example, a note when a meaningful new feature ships. That's the whole list. We do not sell, rent, or trade your email address to anyone, and we do not use it to advertise unrelated products.
Your choices
You stay in control of your data:
- Unsubscribe anytime. Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link. Use it and you'll hear no more from us.
- Delete your data. Email us and we'll remove your address from our records. You don't have to give a reason.
Cookies & analytics
We keep cookies to a minimum. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Our analytics are privacy-friendly and measure traffic in aggregate without identifying individual visitors, so there is no personal profiling to opt out of.
Third-party services
To run the site and the download form, we rely on a few outside providers, and each processes a limited slice of data under its own privacy policy:
- A web host that serves the pages and keeps the standard server logs described above.
- An email / newsletter provider that stores the address you submit and delivers the download link and updates.
- A privacy-friendly analytics service that reports aggregate visitor numbers.
We choose providers that take privacy seriously, but their handling of any data is governed by their own terms, not ours.
Children & classrooms
SlideTimerApp is built to be safe for classroom use. Because the app collects no data at all, students who see or use the timer leave no personal information with us — there is simply nothing for the app to gather. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children through the website either; the email form is intended for the teacher, presenter, or other adult downloading the app.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. Significant changes will be made clear. Continuing to use SlideTimerApp or the website after an update means you accept the revised policy.
